Hip hop beat making software?
What is the best software out there for someone who wants to start making beats? (my focus is hip hop) Please don’t say garage band. I really want to get serious with it.

You should definitely check out FL Studio ( http://flstudio.image-line.com/ ). It is great for serious music production, especially hip hop. Also it is user friendly and not too expensive compared to other programs out there. Try out the demo to see if you like it.
If you like the demo and want to buy the full version, here is a promo link that will give you a 10% discount on the software from the official website: https://support.image-line.com/jshop/shop.php?offer=Default&promo=EDAJCI416
There are a few versions to choose from. To get all the features like live recording, go with the Producer Edition. All of the versions come with free lifetime updates for the software which is awesome.
Good luck with your music!

I see you mention Garageband but I’m not sure if you are limited to Mac use… I use FL Studio Producer Edition: http://demo.flstudio.com
You can buy it with 10% discount here: https://support.image-line.com/jshop/shop.php?offer=Default&promo=BACJBAA468
Other options would be Ableton Live, Logic Pro (Mac only), Cubase, Pro Tools, and… many more. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_audio_workstation
Try demos and see what you like because there is no "best", only what works best for you.
Good luck!
